Hygiene Measures for Cholera Prevention and Care

  • Thoroughly wash any bedding or clothing that may have come into contact with diarrhoea using soap or detergent, and then dry them in direct sunlight.
  • If your household has been affected by cholera or diarrhoea, it is important to carefully clean your surroundings using diluted bleach or other suitable disinfectants.
  • Washing clothing, bedding, or any items used by cholera patients in or near a clean source of running or stored water should be strictly prohibited.
  • Vehicles used to transport a cholera patient should also be washed inside with a dilute bleach solution after the patient has left the vehicle.
